We arrived at 6pm and the dock security guard wasn’t going to let us on the ship because they were loading. We interceded in prayer and waited a bit. Then I told him that we drove all the way from Parksville and he finally let us go aboard.
After checking through deck security they took us to the crew mess where we found two seafarers eating dinner. They asked us to have dinner with them and we accepted. We had some good conversation over dinner and then we shifted the conversation over to spiritual matters.
Our theme was, “Jesus is coming soon” and so we shared John 14:6 with them, “ Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.” Then we proceeded to tell them the truth about new life with Christ. We used John 3 where Nicodemus comes to Jesus at night and Jesus tells him that he must be “born from above.” We took turns sharing scripture and stories and included scripture from Romans 8 as well.
When we were finished we prayed for their safety and protection as they work on the ship and travel back to Asia. We also prayed for their families back home.
When we were on our way out of the ship we met another crew member and talked to him for a few minutes. We told him were were there sharing the gospel and he said that he was a Muslim. We said that God loves him so much and gave him a track for Muslims. He thanked us and we went out to sign out at the deck security desk. There were several seafarers out on the deck so we prayed for them before leaving the ship.
We thank God for His favour and that He makes a way when all odds are against us.
