Items taken on & given out: 20 Christmas gifts, 20 Ten Commandment coins, 30 gospel tracts
The guard at security was very friendly and checked us through to the ship and after checking in with deck security they took us to the crew mess. We introduced ourselves as Nanaimo Lighthouse and welcomed them to Nanaimo. They invited us to dinner and we accepted, which was nice to get to know them a bit.
After dinner we moved the conversation to spiritual matters and asked them about their salvation. That allowed us to move into the gospel through John chapter 3 where Jesus told Nicodemus that he must be born again. There were 7 seafarers with us, including the captain. We took turns sharing scripture and our testimonies with them and spoke for 40 minutes. Our message was well received and they were very attentive to what we said.
Afterwards we prayed for their safety on the ship, their voyage back to Asia, and their families back home. They were very happy that we came to visit with them and share the gospel message. They even walked down to the gangway with us and thanked us again as we left the ship.
We thank God for favour with security and the blessing of a good visit with the crew. We pray that they will read the materials that we gave them and that the Holy Spirit will work in their hearts as they travel back to Asia.
