This is our third visit to this ship and we’re here, specifically, to support the 3rd officer with is bible study. We arrived at the ship at 5 pm were escorted straight to the crew mess. We were supposed to have dinner with the captain and the chief engineer but there was a problem with one of the cranes that they had to attend to. So we visited with the 3rd officer and supplied him with extra bibles and illustrations for his weekly bible study. Then we prayed for him.
Later the captain came to join us and we had a good visit, He also took us to the bridge for a tour. It was amazing to see the bridge and the view from up there was great. It’s a long way up there though, and the stairways inside a ship are very steep, so we had to be very careful going up and down them.
After our visit we prayed for the captain and he escorted us to the security desk. He is a born again Christian and was very open to God’s Word. Please pray for this young captain as he leads these men and allows for the bible study with the 3rd officer. Pray that the attendance of the bible study will grow and lead to better unity on the ship.
