Mount Aso December 12th, 2025

Port:Harmac East

Crew: 20 Filipino, 2 Chinese

Names of Ship Missionaries: Gerard Guimbatan, Frank Sciarpelletti

Result: 6 heard the gospel

Items taken on & given out: 22 Tagalog New Testaments, 4 bags of Cobbs bread

We arrived at the gate at 5:30 pm and the gate security were very friendly with us. We drove to the ship and were met by two Chinese  seafarers who helped us bring the 4 bags of Cobbs bread up to the kitchen. We then went to the crew mess where we met the cook and 5 other seafarers.

We visited with them and then shared the gospel with them. We started by sharing about God and that it was His plan to send His Son Jesus to atone for our sins. Gerard shared in Tagalog that God charged our sins to Jesus, our substitute. The result was His righteousness being credited to our account. I, Frank, shared that God’s ultimate plan is to spend eternity with His children (those who have accepted salvation through faith in the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross to pay for our sins). Most religions are works based, where people are told that they can be good enough for God to save them, but Biblical Christianity is a relationship with God based on the fact that God has dealt with our sin through His Son, Jesus Christ.

All 6 seafarers prayed along with us a prayer of salvation and we pray that they will now seek God and His Holy Spirit to begin their sanctification process of becoming a Christian reborn from above. They will be leaving the next day so Gerard prayed for their trip.

We had to leave at 6:30 to pick up a new batch of bread at Cobbs at 7 pm, but we thank God for this opportunity to share the gospel with them. We were able to present to some of the Filipino crew and they were very receptive. The mechanic recognized Gerard from an earlier ship visit.
