We boarded the ship at 7:45 pm after we left the Ise Bay. The ship was almost fully loaded and ready to leave the next day. We signed in at security and one of the seafarers took us to a meeting room. We introduced ourselves to the seafarers and gave them the bread, which they were very excited to receive.

We visited with them for a while and then started to give our gospel presentation. More seafarers were drifting in and the captain and chief engineer were there waiting for us.

Gerard and I, Frank, shared John 3:16 and 2 Corinthians 5:21, “He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.” We explained God’s Holy character; how He is just and needs to punish sin. But, since we can’t earn our way back to God, He sent His own Son, Jesus Christ, to take our place by shedding His blood on the cross.  God put our sin onto Jesus and if we trust this by Faith, God credits us with His righteousness. Gerard took out a crew list and compared it to the Lamb’s Book of Life that their names are written on it when they commit to follow God with repentance and faith.

Gerard led them in a prayer of salvation in Tagalog and 10 prayed along with him. Later, 3 more crew came and Gerard prayed with them in English.

We had a good conversation with the captain and left the ship at 8:45 pm. Their hearts were so open to the gospel and the captain thanked me personally for coming, especially on a Sunday.  Please pray that God would open their hearts to reading their bibles, praying, and growing in their faith.
