Dock security was good to us and we drove down to the ship. We checked through deck security and went to the crew mess to introduce ourselves to the crew there. We like to visit with the crew for a while to get to know them a bit and build trust and relationships. They are very friendly and invited us to join them for dinner. They enjoy someone new to talk to and are very hospitable. We also bring them ball caps and chocolate today as something different from gifts. They really like getting the ball caps and Canada pins, when we have them, as they make good gifts to the family back home.
While eating dinner we moved the conversation to spiritual matters and begin sharing the gospel. A majority of them have never heard the gospel, and since the JWs were on last night we want to share the true gospel with them. Some of the scriptures that we shared were: Romans 3:10, Romans 6:23, Revelation 3:20, Galatians 1:6-10 and we warned them about false teachers. The JWs preach a different message that puts fear into them, so they were all very relieved with our gospel message and we could see a change in them as the Holy Spirit ministered to them the “good news.” After we finished we prayed for their safety on the ship and while traveling back to Asia, as well as their families.
They walked us to the gangplank to say goodbye and thanked us for a good visit. We took all of the JW material with us and none of them complained. We thank God that we could have this visit after the JWs were there so that the seafarers could hear a message of hope and love, and not fear.
