We were so impressed with how friendly the dock security was, and the deck security was very friendly as well. They greeted us and took us up to the crew mess where we unpacked our bags and began to visit with the available crew.

After visiting for a while we collected 10 seafarers including the Russian captain to hear the gospel. Cecilia started off our meeting by introducing Nanaimo Lighthouse Ministries to them. Our theme tonight was “testimony on the high sea” so I, Gary, gave my testimony of how God saved me many times from danger on the seas. Being a seafarer it’s very important to have assurance of salvation and so we shared John 5:24 ““Truly, truly, I say to you, he who hears My word, and believes Him who sent Me, has eternal life, and does not come into judgment, but has passed out of death into life.”

We had a very good meeting with them and they were very attentive to all that we said. We prayed for their protection on their voyage and for their families back home. We left the ship rejoicing and praising God for the favour He has given us on board the ship, and also the favour with the security guards.

Please pray that they will read the materials in their gift bags and that the Holy Spirit will minister to them.
