Gerard and I (Frank) visited this ship on September 13th but were not able to board to minister to them because they had just arrived and were conducting a meeting.

Today, we arrived at the gate at 4:15 and drove our vehicles to the far end of the dock and parked by the gangway. We were greeted by a couple of seafarers who helped us bring the bags on board the ship. They took us to a staff room and we introduced ourselves to the captain (this is a new captain and crew since September).

We spent a good hour with the Captain as the crew were eating in their mess room. Gary shared about receiving Jesus as Saviour and to make Him Lord of his life, and that he would have eternal life. Frank shared 2 Corinthians 5:21, the key verse that explains that Jesus took on our sins and exchanged it for His righteousness so that we can access God for eternity. We also shared Romans 3:23 NKJV, “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”

We drove home the point that God is the creator of everything and He is Holy; and hence the requirement of His begotten Son Jesus taking on our sins so  that we can have eternal life. We all prayed with the captain and then prayed again by Gary’s vehicle, thanking God for the opportunity to visit this ship.

Please pray with us that we will have more opportunities to visit this ship as they return to Nanaimo.
