Names of Ship Missionaries: Gary & Gina Steele, Girard Guimbatan
Result: 6 gathered to hear the gospel
Items taken on & given out: 20 ball caps, 20 Canada pins, 20 gifts, 80 gospel tracts
We met at the security gate about 5:30 pm and after signing in we drove to the gangway of the ship. After introducing ourselves to deck security and singing in, a crew member took us up to the crew mess. We wished the crew a Happy Canada Day and sat down to visit with them. They invited us to have dinner with them so we gladly took them up on their offer. We request a crew list and then check off each seafarer attending our meeting as this gives us a chance to learn a bit about them, what they do on the ship, and their families back home. We ended up with 6 seafarers gathering with us.
As time goes by we look for opportunities to share the gospel with them, but sometimes we just ask questions about their beliefs, if they have assurance of salvation, etc. Then we begin sharing the truth about salvation with them from John 3:16, John 3 (Nicodemus meets Jesus), and Revelation 20 where the bible says that only those whose names are written in the book of life will be saved, and “no man comes to the father without Jesus the great “I AM.”
I shared my testimony as a seafarer and how the Lord has saved me many times from disaster. Gina and Gerard also shared testimonies and scriptures with them. They were very attentive and when we were finished we prayed for their safety and their families back home. We then gave out the gifts and ball caps and they said that they were ver happy that we came to visit with them to night.
We are thankful to God for such a good visit this evening and we pray that they will read the materials in their gifts. We pray that the Holy Spirit will minister to them as they travel back to Asia.
