Port:Harmac West

Crew: 21 Filipino

Names of Ship Missionaries: Gary & Gina Steele, Frank Sciarpelletti, Gerard Guimbatan

Result: 10 heard the gospel

Items taken on & given out: 1 bag of Christmas gifts, 4 bags of Cobbs bread, 12 Tagalog New Testaments

We arrived at 5:30 and checked through mill security and the mill manager loaded all of us and our bags into his truck and drove us to the ship. Two crew members came down the gangplank and brought the bags, and us, to the recreation room. We met the available crew and introduced ourselves as NLM missionaries. We visited for a bit and then we moved the conversation to spiritual matters. Gina presented the gospel with pictures showing how we are separated from God due to Sin. But God provided the cross to bridge that gap.

We all had a chance to share and compliment the message, which led to a prayer to receive Christ as Lord and Saviour. We know that this is just the beginning of their spiritual journey as nobody is fully saved by just saying a prayer. They must seek God with all their heart by reading His Word, hating their sin, and receive the Holy Spirit, the guarantee of our inheritance.

We prayed for their work, families back home, and safe travel back to China. The captain invited us to join them for dinner in the officer’s mess. We had a wonderful dinner with the captain and other senior officers, and had opportunities to further share the gospel.

Many prayer partners were praying for this visit and the result shows it. The ship left 3 hours after our visit to be anchored near Vancouver. They will be loading at other nearby ports and will return in early January, which will give us an opportunity to present the gospel to the rest of the crew and follow up with the senior officers. Please pray that the crew will read the material in their gift bags and that the Holy Spirit will minister to their hearts.
