We arrived at the ship around 4:45 pm and they took us to the training room where we met the 7 Filipino seafarers. They invited us to join them for dinner in the crew mess and we gladly agreed. It was nice to visit with them for a while and get to know them. We always pray for the Holy Spirit to lead our visits and when the time is right we introduce our intent to have a meeting with them.
We open up by telling them that we have good news to share with them that will impact them for eternity. We started with John 3:16 and talked about God’s love for them and how He sacrificed His only Son to purchase us back. We then move to John chapter 3 where Jesus says that Nicodemus must be re-born from above, and we explain that God wants to put His Holy Spirit into us to adopt us back into His family. We also add in 1 Peter 1:23 “for you have been born again not of corruptible seed but incorruptible, that is, through the living and enduring word of God.” We want to give them assurance that if the put their faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ on the cross, that they will indeed be grafted into God’s family. We also share our personal testimonies along the way.
They were ver attentive to our presentation and afterwards we prayed for their safety and protection as they travel back to Asia, as well as for their families back home. We also prayed for the Chinese and Indian seafarers; that they would be saved as well. Please pray that they will all read the materials in their gift bags and that the Holy Spirit will minister to them.
