Port:Nanaimo C dock
Crew: 21 (3 Myanmar, 18 Indian)
Names of Ship Missionaries: Frank Sciarpelletti, Grant Sandeman- Allen
Result: Shared with 2 seafarers
Items taken on & given out: 21 Christmas gifts
We boarded the ship around 8 pm and carried 3 bags of bread and gifts up before we saw someone on the dec. They asked if we wanted to meet chief officer, and I said “yes.” So they took us to the ship’s office where C/O came in a few minutes later. He asked what we wanted and we said we wanted to visit with the crew. They got us tea and several seafarers came in and out, but we mostly met with C/o and two others. We talked about weather, where they lived, our city and area, family, the upcoming Canada/US hockey game, etc. It was a good time of visiting with them.
Somewhere along the way Frank turned the conversation to spiritual matters with the seafarer closest to him, so I started talking about spiritual matters with the other fellow. He didn’t say what religion he was, but talked about a creator and how we can essentially work to please him, but if our bad deeds outweighed our good deeds, the creator could be merciful and still let him into heaven. I shared the gospel with him but he was firm in his beliefs. Frank ministered to the other Indian seafarer who was a Christian. We took pictures, Frank prayed for their journey to Prince Rupert on Tuesday, and left the ship.
Please pray that the Holy Spirit will draw them to read the materials in their gift bags and minster to them.
