We went through dock security at 5:55 pm and drove to the gangway of the ship. On deck we were greeted by 4 seafarers heading for town. The deck security officer greeted us, checked us in and the third officer took us to the ship’s office. When we were there, he said that he respects Confucius, Buddha and Jesus and requested a bible so he can learn more about Jesus and practice his English. We had him read John 3:16, Romans 3:23 and Romans 6:23.
He was very cooperative on what we shared to him about the scriptures that he read, but he was also on duty so he had to leave. Before he left we prayed for this ship visit and that the doors would open spiritually to the gospel on this ship.
We are very thankful that the third officer was so great to minister to, and that he asked for a bible and listened to our gospel presentation. After he left the three of us had a discussion on how we can make these presentations better through videos, mobile phone translators, as well as Chinese interpreters. We praised God for this visit and left the ship.
