Port:Harmac West
Crew: 21 Filipino
Names of Ship Missionaries: Gary & Gina Steele
Result: 5 heard the gospel
Items taken on & given out: 6 leftover Christmas gifts, 20 gospel coins, about 150 gospel tracts, 15 ball caps
We boarded the ship about 5:15 and they took us to the captain who invited us to have dinner. The ship hasn’t been here for 2 years, but the captain remembered us with a warm welcome, we remembered him. After dinner and a good visit with the captain, he took us to the crew mess where 4 others joined us, including 1 woman. We shared the gospel with them including our testimonies and scripture readings. Afterwards we led them in a prayer of repentance, but informed them that becoming a Christian is more than just saying a prayer, it is the Holy Spirit dwelling within us.
We then prayed for their voyage back to Asia, the equipment on the ship to work flawlessly, and their families back home. We also discussed the Jehovah’s Witnesses to warm them about these false prophets that sometimes come on the ships.
We give glory to God for this visit and pray that they will read the materials in their gift bags and surrender to God.
