We cleared dock security and after checking in on the ship they took us to the crew mess. We introduced ourselves to the available crew and sat down to visit with them for a while. We thanked them for coming to hear us and Gina started by sharing how we can have the assurance of salvation.
We started with John 3:16, and then moved to John 3:3 where Jesus tells Nicodemus that we must be “born again.” We went on to explain what that meant and how God has ordained Salvation through faith in Jesus. We then followed up with scriptures from Romans 8 and then with Revelation 3:20, “here I am! I stand at the door . . .” We finished with a call for them to repent and accept Jesus as their Lord and Saviour. We let them know that Jesus is coming soon and we don’t know the hour, but the signs of the times are evident that this prophecy is being fulfilled right now.
We prayed for their safety on the ship, and on their voyage to Asia as well as their families back home. Sadly, we noticed that some of the seafarers had just come from the Philippines and didn’t have enough warm clothing for our climate. Sadly, we didn’t have anything to give them.
We are very thankful for this ship visit and pray that the seafarers will follow up on our presentation by reading the materials in their gift packages.
