Port:Harmac West
Crew: 23 Filipino
Names of Ship Missionaries: Gary & Gina Steele
Result: 15 gathered to hear the gospel
Items taken on & given out: 1 bag of gifts, 75 gospel tracts, 15 Canada pins, 15 of the 10 Commandments coins
We arrived at the ship and checked through security and then a crewman took us up to the crew mess. After introducing ourselves and unpacking our bags they invited us to have dinner with them. After dinner 15 joined us while 4 went into town. We introduced the Nanaimo Lighthouse Ministry and started sharing from the gospel of John and then from Romans. We asked them how many know that they have assurance of salvation and know they will go to heaven? Not every hand went up so we preached about being born again. As usual, Gina and I take turns sharing our testimonies, scriptures, and other stories about our Christian walk. They were all very attentive to what we said and were very glad that we came to visit them.
Afterwards we prayed for their safety, for the captain (who also attended the gospel presentation), and their loved ones back home. Afterwards, one of the seafarers came up to me and said that he remembered me and Aurora from 13 years ago. Wow, I must have made a good impression on him!
We praise God for such a good visit and ask that everyone pray for this crew to read the materials and receive counsel from the Holy Spirit regarding their salvation and Christian walk.
